'Giggles Goes Gone' Goes Live

Author Paul Thomsen's new Adventure Novel, 'Giggles Goes Gone', officially went on sale to the public today. Thomsen's third novel marks his first attempt at a Young Adult Adventure novel.

The novel is partly set in rural southern Minnesota and the Great North Woods near the Canadian Border. It's about two young boys who hike through the woods on a search for a beloved lost cat. Thomsen says he came up with the idea when thinking about his own pets and how painful it would be if they were lost on a trip far away from the animal's natural surroundings, "It seemed, at least to me, a very frightening occurrence to have a dearly loved pet get lost in an area that they would not be familiar with."

Thomsen said that he based the setting on his childhood where he grew up on a farm in Southern Minnesota as well as frequent trips he made to visit his Grandparent's cabin on a small lake near Bemidji, Minnesota. "It seemed like the obvious place to have a cat go missing [in the woods], especially a farm animal, who is more accustomed to prairie grass and haylofts," said Thomsen, "I just can't imagine how frightening that would be for any kind of pet."

The story revolves around a boy named "Alex" whose favorite cat, "Mister Giggles", is "spooked" by his Grandmother's new dog while they visit her cabin in Northern Minnesota. The rest of the story follows the two main characters

as they go on a search for the missing cat.

Thomsen has published two Books previously as part of the American Satanists' series of books but he is quick to point out that the subject matter on this new novel is quite a bit more banal, "I was leery about putting 'Giggles...' out under my name" considering it wasn't associated with violent and sexual content, explains Thomsen, "but I really felt that this story needed to be told.

The story deals with adolescent alienation, emotional discovery and learning about the world at an age when things are beginning to look like they are not as clear cut as they seem. The novel went on sale today on Amazon Kindle. You can download it here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DIF7EJ8?ref_=pe_2427780_160035660

The effort marks Thomsen's first offering through The Hemot Group and he hopes it is just the start of a prodigious relationship.
